Specific details have been announced for renovation of La Colombe d’Or Hotel, a boutique Houston hotel owned by the Zimmerman family. The $10-million project, spearheaded by Hines and the Zimmerman family (represented by NewForm Real Estate), will add additional rooms across the Mansion, Tower and Garden Bungalows. The 1920s-building at 3410 Montrose Blvd. was closed in late 2018 to launch renovations.
The Mansion is undergoing a full renovation and restoration, while the Tower will add 18 suites and the Garden Bungalows, nine suites. Guest amenities include gardens, a private park, fitness facility and pool, full-service restaurant and bar, and a gallery with rotating art exhibits. Munoz Albin is the architect.
Hines and TH Real Estate are also spearheading development of the adjacent 34-story Residences at La Colombe d’Or, which is expected to open by summer. The residences will connect to the neighboring hotel, and provide an additional 18 guestrooms.
